Earlier this month, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan was pleased to raise its big white tents along the river’s edge and announce the stellar cast of this year’s exciting productions. This week, Saskatchewan’s finest celebration of live theatre and all things Shakespearean is eager to announce the opening of its on-site box office.
For the month of June, the box office will be open from 12:00pm to 6:00pm Monday to Saturday (with a short break between 2:30pm and 3:00pm). Starting in July, the box office will be open every day with extended festival hours. Tickets can be purchased by phone at: (306) 652-1900 or in-person at the festival site, located at the foot of the University Bridge next to the Mendel Art Gallery (look for the big white tents!)
This year’s season of Heroes and Villains is only one month away, running from July 11th to August 26th and featuring the Tragedy of Hamlet (presented by PotashCorp) and As You Like It (presented by SaskTel) playing on the Stuart Olson Dominion Festival Mainstage. Tickets start at $32 for adults, $25 for students and seniors, and $18 for youth. Discounted tickets are available for previews, matinees, and Sunday evening performances. Also ask about Family Matinee Discounts, sponsored by Northridge Development Corporation, which are available to all adults/seniors that attend with students or youth.
Tickets for this year’s guest performers are also on sale. DancEgypt returns with PostCards from Cairo, a Middle Eastern dance experience playing on July 16th, 23rd, & 30th (Adults $25, Students and Seniors $20, Youth $12). On August 6th, 13th & 20th Dance Saskatchewan Inc. shares an eclectic mix of performance works from across the province with Dance on the Saskatchewan (Adults $20, Children and Seniors $15).
