Saskatoon Shines In The News:  March 12, 2008. 

For over 72 years the Delta Bessborough has stood proudly on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River as Saskatoon's most enduring landmark. Tourism Saskatoon celebrates the project recently undertaken by Wolf Sun Productions to capture the historic significance of Saskatoon's "Castle" in a 30 minute episode of it's hit SCN series Edifice & Us.

The program is scheduled to air on Tuesday March 25th at 8:30 pm CST (10:30 pm EST) and again on Thursday March 27th at Midnight CST (2:00 am EST March 28th). Due to some considerable national interest in this particular episode, SCN and Wolf Sun Productions will also make the program available via broadband, making it accessible to a wide audience.

"The Bessborough is a Canadian icon, a classic railway hotel that has become synonymous with Saskatoon's skyline" comments Executive Producer Steve Wolfson, "its appeal transcends our provincial borders and we felt it important to make the episode as universally available as possible". 

(Saskatoon is a destination in the heart of the province of Saskatchewan, it offers a refreshing experience to its visitors.  This beautiful city is known for its friendly hospitality, multicultural community, attractions, rich history and friendly hospitality.)

The team at SCN concurs. "Our mandate is to be Saskatchewan's storyteller and as with many things "Saskatchewan" certain stories resonate well beyond our borders" states Ranjan Thakre, Director of Marketing and Communications for SCN, "The Bessborough is definitely one such story".

Delta Bessborough General Manager, Andrew Turnbull is also excited about the production, "Steve and his team spent countless hours accumulating footage, researching our history and talking to past and present staff members to ensure the highest possible quality of this program, all of us are eagerly awaiting the broadcast".

Effective March 15th a trailer for the program featuring numerous scenes from the episode will be available on -line at www.scn.ca/bes. On March 25th this same site will stream the entire program, and for those who can't make the scheduled broadcast, the on-line link will remain in place until April 7th.
