Each year cities across the world host Winter Festivals, both large and small, to celebrate the season, encourage winter sports, build their communities, acknowledge arts and culture and showcase their city to visitors. Up until 2009, Saskatoon has not been on the winter festival map as a destination that celebrates winter in wild and wonderful ways. In 2008, Tourism Saskatoon felt the need to address and change winter attitudes by launching WinterShines 2009. WinterShines now is moving into its third season and we are thrilled to be announcing a new partner for 2011.
