SASKATOON – A Storybook Christmas is the theme that will usher in Saskatoon’s Christmas spirit at the 26th annual Festival of Trees opening this Sunday, November 20, 2011.  Located at the Western Development Museum this year’s Festival of Trees features more than 80 decorated Christmas trees and displays along with daily entertainment and activities for the entire family.

NEW at the Festival this year is Once Upon A Storytime, showcasing professional storytellers from the Saskatoon Public Library.  Storytellers are scheduled daily and will entertain all ages with live, holiday storybook readings, games and songs.

“Once Upon A Storytime is a fun addition to the Festival this year. It’s a lively complement to our overall Festival theme, A Storybook Christmas.  This year you’ll see dozens of Christmas trees and displays decorated with storybook themes. Our volunteers have worked very hard to produce a unique experience for visitors this year,” says Rick Steffen, Festival of Trees Chair.

The Festival of Trees: A Storybook Christmas, is open to the public from Sunday, November 20 – Saturday, November 26, 2011. Proceeds from the event will support the Saskatchewan MS Clinical Research Chair Campaign at Saskatoon City Hospital.
