Blast Off to Country Shines - Fireworks, art, music, song and dance kicks off
Country Music Week in Saskatoon and Canada
Saskatoon, SK – This Labour Day Weekend (Friday August 31st and Saturday September 1st) will see Saskatoon’s South Saskatchewan River Banks come alive with music song, dance and a whole lot of fun – during the 5th annual PotashCorp Fireworks Festival. The festival this year, in light of the lead up to Country Music Week and the CCMA awards being hosted in Saskatoon, has adopted the theme of Blast Off to Country Shines.
PotashCorp the title sponsor is pleased to help bring this wonderful festival to the people of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and the world. “PotashCorp is a global company, but Saskatchewan is our home, “said Rhonda Speiss, the Manager of Corporate Philanthropy at PotashCorp. “We strive to improve the quality of life in those communities where we operate and this festival does just that. Not only do attendees enjoy a fantastic festival, but over thirty not-for-profit and community groups benefit from the festival.”
Cultural Showcase – River Landing Amphitheatre
Every year the Fireworks Festival seeks out interesting cultural performers to put on a show that represents the host of cultural influences that make up Saskatoon. There is an outdoor art show curated by Hugo Alvarado in front of the Remai Arts Centre, children’s games and attractions, including balloon art, clowns, and bounce houses. An added feature this year is the SGI Safety Fair, which will highlight the Child Find ID clinic.
All About Me I. D. Clinic- River Landing
The “All About Me I.D.” program offers safety tips and a place to record pertinent information about your child. The ID booklet contains a place for your child’s fingerprints, picture and medical data. This information is invaluable should a child go missing.

Heritage Rivers Photography Contest – We also encourage attendees to enter the Heritage Rivers Contest and submit their photos of the fireworks over the city and river and bridges and win prizes.
