Mixed Media 3: The best party of 2011 turns into a tri-annual event

The best party of 2011 turns into a tri-annual event at The Two Twenty with The Stall Gallery

WHO? Jeanette Stewart of the Star Phoenix voted the Two Twenty grand opening as one of the three best parties of 2011. Now the Two Twenty is continuing that tradition, collaborating with The Stall Gallery to bring a diverse community of artists and performers together for one unforgettable evening: welcome to Mixed Media 3!

WHY? The Stall Gallery is relocating its physical gallery from the Farmer’s Market, to permanently display their work throughout the Two Twenty. Three times a year, the Stall Gallery will host an art reception to showcase featured artists—but this will be an art reception unlike any other…

WHAT? Mixed Media 3 is an art party/festival that combines visual art, music, dance, DJs, drinks, and performance! The first Mixed Media 3 will take place on Saturday, April 28 and will feature visual artist Kelly Grace, who sets the theme with artwork inspired by childhood toys, date nights, and the Wizard of Oz. To honor her work, Collective Coffee will be transformed into your childhood toy room with displays of vintage toys featured in Grace’s work. Theatre artist Heather Morrison will bring your worst date nights to life! At 8pm, Kelly Grace will actually Skype into the party on a huge screen, talking about her work and answering questions as the people at the party peruse the display. Other performances include:

- Jeans Boots (Stevie Nicks meets Velvet Underground),

- Soprano Anastasia Winterhalt,

- Dance performance led by Kyle Syverson,

- Castle River (syncopated rhythms & brotherly-like harmonies) and

- DJ Chris Cake and DJ Conrad Divine
