SIGA Extends Title Sponsor Agreement With Dakota Dunes Open Presented by SaskTel

SASKATOON, SK - Monday, April 28, 2014 - The SIGA Dakota Dunes Open presented by SaskTel will call the Dakota Dunes Golf Links home for three more years thanks to a new Title Sponsorship agreement with SIGA, Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority CEO Zane Hansen announced at a media conference Monday in Saskatoon. Joining Hansen was PGA TOUR Canada President Jeff Monday and Tournament Director Hugh Vassos.


"SIGA is proud to continue the tradition of presenting professional golf in Saskatchewan, especially with PGA TOUR Canada," commented Hansen. "We also look forward to working with the Tournament Organization on a number of special events throughout the week to make this a great event for everyone involved. We are also pleased to announce that this year's Charity of Choice is the Canadian Diabetes Association."

"The SIGA Dakota Dunes Open presented by SaskTel continues to grow thanks to our partners," said Vassos. "We have expanded our special events into GolFest Saskatchewan, including a Satellite Pro-Am in Prince Albert and the Cameco Kids Pro-Am for teams of young golfers from throughout the province."
The Executive Women's Afternoon at the Dunes is another new event designed as a unique networking event for women in business. Themed "Work/Life Balance....one stroke at a time," the afternoon will appeal to a new audience for the tournament and join with dozens of events across the PGA TOUR launching Executive Women's Day events.


Also back by popular demand is the Drive the River Challenge at River Landing in conjunction with the Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday July 2nd. PGA TOUR Canada Players will take on local NHL players and celebrities in a 300-yard closest to the pin contest across the South Saskatchewan River. Golf fans are invited to the river bank for the fun and a lunch from one of the food trucks on-site.

The tournament week runs June 30th - July 6th with the actual tournament July 3rd - 6th at the Dakota Dunes Golf Links. Free Dakota Dunes shuttle service is provided from a number of Saskatoon locations. A One Day Pass sells for $10 and a Four Day Tournament Pass is only $25. Passes will be soon be available on Pic-A-Tic or at the tournament gate. A Call has gone out for 250 Volunteers.
