Sparkle show featuring Andrea Menard, award winning holiday album
Following the success of last year’s tour, Metis songstress Andrea Menard is returning to Saskatoon with her heartâ€?warming holiday concert, Sparkle. A truly sparkling show for the whole family, Menard sings the songs from her awardâ€?winning holiday album. Menard and her sixâ€?piece band, led by the multiâ€?talented guitarist Robert Walsh and featuring Irish singer/songwriter Stephen Maguire, will be performing at the Dakota Dunes Casino on Friday, November 25.

Sparkle is an original Christmas release, but the nostalgic songs, written with longâ€?time collaborator and producer Robert Walsh, are as warm and familiar as the old standards. The title song has been sung by thousands of people all over world, including over two thousand students across the Canadian prairies. Sparkle was nominated for Best International Album at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, while Evergreen, Menard’s first music video, played at the imagineNATIVE, San Francisco American Indian and Reel World Film Festivals, and was nominated for Best Music Video at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards.
Menard’s holiday television special Sparkle: An Evening with Andrea Menard (Wabunganung Films) was broadcast on APTN over the 2010 Christmas holidays and earned her a Gemini award nomination for her outstanding performance. Menard is also the star of Rabbit Fall (Space TV, APTN) and is now part of the Gemini awardâ€?winning dramatic TV series Blackstone (Prairie Dog Film & TV).
