SASKATOON, SKMay 26, 2011 – Tourism Saskatoon is pleased to announce the opening of the seasonal Visitor Information Centre located at Avenue C North and 47th Street West. As of May 20, 2011, this location is open daily from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm until September 6, 2011. 

Effective immediately through September 5, 2011, the main Visitor Information Centre located downtown at 202 Fourth Avenue North will operate with extended hours: 8:15 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on weekends and holidays.

Tourism Saskatoon has hired four Summer Travel Counsellors to staff both Visitor Information Centres. They will provide information to visitors about festivals, events, attractions, accommodation, shopping, dining, and other activities.

In 2010, the seasonal Visitor Information Centre alone welcomed over 1,600 visitors through their doors. These visitors were travelling from across Canada, the US, and overseas.

In addition to the Visitor Information Centres, Tourism Saskatoon offers Tourism Radio 91.7 FM. The ten-minute, looped message is updated regularly, highlighting events, festivals, and attractions, reaching listeners up to 10 kilometres outside the city.
