Two Weeks Left for Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan

Published: Aug 13, 2012

Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan is down to its final two weeks of performance.  The Festival’s 28th season of “Heroes and Villains” officially wraps up on the 26th of August.

For those that have yet to attend this year’s performances: this is your final call!

Two productions are featured on the Stuart Olson Dominion Festival Mainstage.  As You Like It (presented by SaskTel) is this year’s story of love and comedy, led by Cassidy Thompson who shines as the witty heroine Rosalind.  Hamlet (presented by PotashCorp) is the ultimate tale of revenge, led by the talented Greg Ochitwa who takes on the title role.  Both shows have been very well received by audiences and critics alike:

“Thomson brought a fierce intelligence to the role of the woman who holds this play together. Her latter revelation scenes were a delight.”
-Bill Robertson. “As You Like It Proves To Be A Summer Delight”
StarPhoenix Review of As You Like It

“It's great watching Hamlet set his trap… The combined force of great acting and dramatic irony is awesome.”
-Cam Fuller. “Saskatchewan Hamlet Stays True To Its Roots”
StarPhoenix Review of Hamlet

Performances are scheduled in repertory for the duration of the season.  For tickets, call the box office at 652-9100 or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  For more information, visit:
