Take a canoeing adventure on the South Saskatchewan River back to the turbulent 1885 era of Canadian history. Visit the national historic sites of the North West Resistance where battles raged between Louis Riel’s followers and the Canadian militia. Hike the trail from the river to General Middleton’s battle camp at Fish Creek. Enjoy the wildlife and valley scenery en route. At trip’s end, visit the site of the final Battle of Batoche via the historic Carlton Trail. This weekend canoe-camping trip includes all canoeing and safety equipment, camping gear, certified guide, National Historic Site fees, meals and transportation.
