In 1885 Saskatchewan was seething with discontent and conflict. Re-live the history of this troubled era by paddling through the heart of the most intense battle zone of the North West Resistance. Starting at the archaeological site of the 1870’s-era Métis wintering settlement of Petite Ville, follow the path of the Northcote steamer as it churned its ill-fated way to Batoche. At the junction of the Carlton Trail, take to land and hike to the Parks Canada interpretive centre to learn a lot more about the Battle of Batoche and its aftermath for the Métis people. This one-day canoe trip includes all canoeing and safety equipment, certified instructor/guide, a riverside picnic lunch, National Historic Site fees and transportation. Custom departures are available for groups.
