For the first time in its 24 year old history, the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championship will be held outside of Ottawa, in Saskatoon! The Championship features 30 of Canada’s best young fiddlers on the contest circuit today. From across Canada, they will be together on one stage – guaranteed to warm the hearts of any old-time fiddling fan.

We plan to surround the contest with many western offerings, featuring good ol' prairie hospitality and music. You will hear the Métis style of fiddling, and you might even get a chance to learn to dance the Red River Jig or play in a jigging contest. You will kick up your heels at an old time prairie dance – the butterfly, the schottische, and the Heel and Toe Polka – to tunes by Calvin Vollrath, Reg Bouvette, Andy Dejarlis, John Arcand and King Ganam. There will be square dancing, featuring Saskatchewan-born favourite Gordon Stobbe as our caller.

Hosted by the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Association.
