In the Saskatchewan landscape some villages disappear, some towns prosper. In the francophone village of Ste. Vierge, like the Chinese elephants he loving shapes, Jean Claude's people teeter on the brink of extinction. But he insists on survival, creating for himself, as he has learned from his mémère, a papier-mâché world where he can safely inhabit the past, the present and the future. Edinburgh Fringe First Award for Outstanding New Work, 1997.
