International Day of the Girl is a UN sponsored day, a global call to action to empower girls and break the cycle of poverty, violence and discrimination that many girls face worldwide.

Come celebrate and take action to make a difference:

  • watch the inspiring award winning documentary Girl Rising (PG-13) that shows when girls are educated they can transform societies and thus the world (www.girlrising.com)
  • create postcards with Monique Martin – “we need to walk the walk not just talk the talk about being female leaders. We also need to think about what life is like in someone else’s shoes and act accordingly. Each step we take, each decision we make affects those around us.” (www.moniqueart.com)
  • awaken possibility with Elyn Achtymichuk through journaling
  • donate to help us reach our goal of sponsoring 5 girls for a year through World Vision and donating to Egadz Baby Steps / Michael’s House for young mums
