This exhibit commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II from a uniquely Canadian perspective. It recalls her first 60 years as Canada’s Head of State, her many visits to this country and her personal connection to major events in our recent history. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on her remarkable journey from young princess to long-serving monarch. It also illuminates Canada’s development as a modern, diverse country with enduring ties to its British heritage and traditions. Featuring a rich assortment of artifacts and historical images from across the country, this exhibit recalls Her Majesty’s many Canadian tours, as well as diverse seminal events such as the celebration of Canada’s centennial in 1967 and the proclamation of the Constitution Act in 1982. “A Queen and Her Country” will be on display at the DCC from January 15th until June 8, 2014.
