This year marks the 30th Anniversary of GlassArt which is the annual show of the Saskatoon Glassworkers Guild. The Saskatoon Glassworkers Guild is a non-profit organization formed in 1987 to promote excellence in glass art in Saskatoon. Guild members produce many forms of glass art including stained glass, etching, sandblasting, painting on glass, fusing, lampwork and glass blowing. Glassart is a great opportunity for those interested in art and more specifically glass art to view the excellent work being done in Saskatoon and area. There is a silent auction with a wide range of items to bid on. This year, we have had a large roll up vessel donated by Darren Petersen of Sparrow Glass works. The piece was created during a workshop he did in Dundurn for the Guild in April of last year. The piece will be on display in our silent auction, and is available to be bid on. Glassart has become a sign of spring in Saskatoon.

Throughout the show, artists will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss the type of glass art they create. Anyone who comes to the show will be invited to create a larger mosaic piece with us. It will be in process throughout the weekend and displayed at next years GlassArt. For more information about the Saskatoon Glassworkers Guild and Glassart18 please visit our website at .
