Jane’s Walk in Saskatoon is a series of free walking tours that explore a wide range of urban landscapes, from social housing slated for redevelopment to areas with a rich architectural and cultural heritage, to teen hangouts and secret gardens. Volunteers, who have a story to share about the neighbourhood in which each walk takes place, lead the groups. The walks take an hour, will be posted on the Jane's Walk Saskatoon website and run throughout the weekend. Thousands of people have taken part in a Jane’s Walk now in 212 cities world wide, inspired by the urban activist Jane Jacobs. She knew “vital cities are not helpless to combat even the most difficult problems” and so encouraged people to deeply know the neighbourhoods of their city.
