The complex terrain of the real and imagined north is the focus of this exhibition of contemporary Canadian art. Canada has cultivated and maintained a strong symbolic connection with the north. This persists, despite ruptures in the national myth, and momentous environmental and social changes. Through diverse artistic perspectives, Sympathetic Magic considers ideas of nationhood, culture, and the environment. Participating artists include Raymond Boisjoly, Kevin Schmidt, Adad Hannah, Ken Lum, and Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory.
