SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – On Friday, February 17th horse lovers from across the country will converge in Saskatoon for the first annual Saskatchewan Equine Expo.
Saskatoon Prairieland Park will host the three day event featuring educational seminars, live demonstrations, breeds on display, and an industry trade show. The Trainer’s Challenge will showcase the talents of three renowned horse trainers.
Saturday evening’s ‘Equine Extravaganza’ will demonstrate the diversity of different horse breeds and disciplines. The audience will be awed by the speed and accuracy of the Mounted Shooters Association demonstration, as well as amazed with the beauty of Clydesdales in an 8-horse hitch.
The Western College of Veterinary Medicine will present educational seminars and demonstrations throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. Experts in dressage, reining and centered riding will be providing instructions to pre-registered participants.
“The response from the industry and general public has been overwhelming. Our trade show will feature 129 industry specific trade show booths, showcasing products for both horse and rider,” said Prairieland Park’s Livestock Manager, Brenda Sapergia.
Live demonstrations and the Trainers Challenge will take place at the Prairieland Park Ag Centre, while the trade show and information sessions will be held in Hall B at Prairieland Park’s Trade and Convention Centre. General admission allows access to all events in both venues.
