Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Saskatoon’s hottest summer festival -- WakeRide --- happens in Victoria Park on July 6, 7, and 8 featuring world-class entertainment and professional wakeboarding, free-style motor cross, and skateboarding.

WakeRide is excited to announce professional Wakeboarders that will attend the 2012 event. Shawn Watson, Oliver Derome, Aaron Rathy, Kyle Rattray, and Saskatchewan’s own Anthony Hollick, Dylan Millar and Rusty Malinoski.

“We are really excited about the group of riders coming this year,” said Mike Napper the festival’s co-founder and owner of Backside Boardshop. “It is going to be great having 3 Saskatchewan born professionals riding here in Saskatoon this year.”

Saskatchewan native Rusty Malinoski, is a previous world champion professional Wakeboarder. After winning several world titles, and seeing his name on merchandise including wakeboards and boats, he has not forgotten his roots. Rusty proves that truly anything is possible when you put your mind to it. His support of this event, Saskatoon and youth involvement in sports reinforces the potential to create a very successful annual wakeboard competition along the South Saskatchewan riverbank. 

WakeRide is a charitable event that donates every dollar raised to support youth in Saskatoon.  In the past three years, WakeRide has raised over $90,000 for local youth programs here in the city. This action-packed weekend includes Wakeboarding, Slider Pool Session, Motor-Cross, Skateboard demo’s, a free-interactive Family Zone and world-class entertainment. Tickets for the 2012 WakeRide Festival are on sale now and can be purchased online through Ticketmaster or at Backside Boardshop.  Tickets grant access to concert grounds – minors are allowed in if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times (photo ID is required). Children under the age of 12 are free and youth passes are available for $10 for youth 12-18 years of age.  Ticket prices are as follows:
