Fort Battleford, established by the North West Mounted Police at the junction of the Battle and North Saskatchewan rivers, is an area rich in Indian and fur trade history. The Fort, constructed in 1876 played an important role in the settlement of the West. Today, you can tour original buildings and view artifacts depicting the life of the Mounties back then and the pivotal role they played in the settlement of the west.

Step back in time and experience the story of Saskatchewan's agricultural and rural life at the Western Development Museum - Heritage Farm and Village. This 100 acre outdoor site features a village with more than thirty homes and businesses representing the boom years of the 1920's. An original Saskatchewan Wheat Pool elevator built in 1928 and the 1913 railway station serve as reminders of early farm and grain marketing stories.
