Tourism Saskatoon's main office is open Monday to Friday 8:15am-5:00pm at 101-202 Fourth Avenue North.

From May 21, 2010 through September 6, 2010, hours are Monday-Friday 8:15am-5:30pm and weekends and holidays 8:30am-5:30pm.

A Seasonal Tourism Saskatoon Visitor Reception Centre is open daily May 21, 2010 through September 6, 2010 from 8:30am-5:30pm and is located at Avenue C North and 47th Street West.

Climate

The weather in Saskatoon is generally dry and sunny. Summer daytime temperatures range from 20 ° C to 35 ° C (68 ° F to 95 ° F). Evenings are cool, requiring a light sweater or jacket. Winter temperatures vary from +5 ° C to -30 ° C (41 ° F to -22 ° F). Average annual rainfall of 265mm ensures lush gardens, parks, and golf courses. In winter, snowfall is sufficient to encourage many winter sports.

Currency Exchange

The currency system is based on Canadian dollars and cents. U.S. currency can be exchanged at any bank, credit union or trust company. Most businesses accept U.S. currency at the current exchange rate.

Liquor Laws

The minimum age for consumption of alcohol in Saskatchewan is 19 years. Alcohol, beer and wine are sold in government liquor stores and cold beer and wine stores in several locations throughout the city. Restaurants are licensed to serve alcoholic beverages.

Sales Tax

A federal tax of 5% is levied on all goods and services. A provincial tax of 5% is assessed on all goods with the exception of food, restaurant meals and children's clothing.

Smoking

The City of Saskatoon is a smoke-free city which makes all public places and private clubs smoke-free. This includes bars, nightclubs, bingos, bowling centres, private clubs & restaurants. In addition, smoking is not allowed in outdoor seating areas associated with these establishments or in temporary tent shelters at public events.

Air Service

The Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport is located 15 minutes from the city centre. Numerous daily arrivals and departures link Saskatoon with all Canadian, American and International points.

Ground Transportation

VIA Rail trains arrive and depart regularly from the station located 15 minutes from the city center on Chappell Drive. The bus terminal is located in the downtown area on 23rd Street East. Greyhound Canada provides daily bus service to various Canadian destinations. Saskatchewan Transportation Company provides frequent daily service between Saskatoon and Regina and many points throughout the province.

Public Transportation

Saskatoon Transit System provides frequent bus service to all parts of the city.
