The Diefenbaker Canada Centre is celebrating Culture Days 2023!
Come visit and learn about Saskatoon’s first public schoolhouse! The original Victoria School, now known as the Little Stone Schoolhouse (LSS), was built in 1887 by stone mason, Alexander Marr. The one-room schoolhouse was used until 1905, then dismantled stone by stone and reconstructed on the University of Saskatchewan campus in 1911.
On Saturday October 7, join us from 12 to 4 pm to participate in hands-on Victorian Era activities and games led by costumed interpreters. Experience what it was like to write on slate chalkboards, try your hand at ball and cup, and see if you can pass the school health inspection!
Please note there are no washrooms or running water in the building.
