Theatre & Dance in Saskatoon

Theatre-goers will love the beautiful Remai Arts Centre, which is home to Saskatoon’s compelling Persephone Theatre.  Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan takes place annually mid-summer, presenting two of the bard’s plays on the banks of the South Saskatchewan under the white tents. There are also options for excellent dramas and comedies in French and Cree such as La Troupe du Jour and Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre. Through their support of local professional talent, Live Five creates varied and powerful theatre seasons, raising the profile of their featured artists.

No matter the genre or discipline, Saskatoon loves to get down! A wide variety of cultural groups perform and offer classes in the city, and Dance Saskatchewan's multidisciplinary centre creates a safe and welcoming space for all dancers. Elite professionals such as The Yevshan Ukrainian Folk Ballet Ensemble bring spectators the highest quality and unique interpretations of Ukrainian dance. The Refinery Arts and Spirit Centre and Studio 914 are well-known hosts for the best in modern dance and cultural performances. Of course Folkfest, held every August, is always a great place to see Saskatoon's talented and diverse cultural dancers in action.
