Things to Do with Kids in Saskatoon

In Saskatoon there’s always family fun to be had – we have one of the country’s youngest demographics after all. First, choose your adventure: inside or outside? No matter the time of year, chances are there’s an activity or event perfect for your fam – just check our listings!

To get outdoors and hopefully tire Junior out enough for a peaceful night’s sleep, head to Nutrien Playland at Kinsmen Park. It will keep youngsters entertained and parents sane for hours. Take a twirl on the whimsical carousel or hop on the 20-meter high Ferris wheel. Everyone loves a Ferris wheel – riding them, posing in front of them, watching them. They bring joy to the heart, and butterflies in the stomach! If heights aren’t your thing then you can even ride a mini replica Canpotex freight train through the park - toot toot! Here comes the fun train!

For a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, visit Calories Restaurant on Broadway Avenue. This Saskatoon favorite is famous for its delicious cheesecake selection, which should do the trick. Note: Adults will love the local food-focused and suggested pairings menu. Don’t forget to get yourself a cappuccino for the road!

Because we’re a city that goes 24/7, rain, shine, wind chill or blizzard, the list of indoor options is varied. Youngsters will have a blast at the Children’s Discovery Museum (opening soon!), while tweens and teens can put their puzzle skills to the test at Break Out Escape & Game Lounge. Gramps and Gran will love watching the kids rip around the indoor go-cart track at Stoked Centre’s Velocity Speedway or play a round alongside them at Mar’s Mini Golf. Still got some energy to burn? Jump around at Saskatoon’s trampoline park, Apex!
