The 3 sustainability-oriented actions that we're proud to have incorporated in our workplace are:
1: Staff are encouraged to use active or public transportation to get to work, meetings etc.
2: We reuse “good one side” paper in our printers and for note taking.
3: Printing is minimized. When materials need to be printed, and “good one side” paper is not appropriate, we use FSC® certified, 100% post-consumer recycled paper if possible.

Additional Comments: The Saskatchewan Environmental Society is a non-profit, registered charity whose mandate is to work towards a world in which all needs can be met in sustainable ways. Sustainability requires healthy ecosystems, livelihoods, and communities.

The three actions that we intend to introduce in the next 12 months are:
1: We will be purchasing a new printer this year, and will ensure that it is ENERGY STAR, able to print 2-sided, and minimizes the use of printer cartridges. Computers will default to 2-sided print.
2: We use renewable energy through Bullfrog Power for our office.
3: We will start using digital e-transfer for bill payments and receivables to cut down on cheque writing and paper waste.

The three actions that we intend to introduce in the next 2-4 years are:
1: When replacing computers, we are moving to energy star laptops to reduce energy use and the amount of paper that gets printed for meetings (e.g. using the electronic file instead).
2: Install power bars and use them effectively on office equipment to reduce phantom load during weekends and staff holidays.
3: Work with those staff that are still driving to move to sustainable transportation.
